About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Principal/Staff Software Engineer to build and own complex ML/AI agent systems from the ground up. This is a foundational engineering role at an early-stage company — you'll be writing code, designing architecture, and shaping the technical direction of a product that aims to transform how healthcare tasks are performed.

What You'll Do

• Design and build autonomous AI agent systems capable of performing complex, multi-step healthcare tasks
• Build agent harnesses and orchestration infrastructure, including tool calling and multi-turn routing
• Integrate agents with external tools and systems (e.g., via MCP)
• Own systems end-to-end, from architecture through production deployment
• Work closely with founders and a small team to define technical strategy in a 0 to 1 environment

What We're Looking For

• Current or recent title as Principal, Staff, or Senior ML/AI Engineer
• Proven experience building products from 0 to 1 at a startup
• Hands-on, shipped experience building AI agents, tool-calling systems, or multi-turn routing infrastructure
• Strong background in Python; familiarity with Rust, Go, or TypeScript a plus
• Based in Europe / EMEA

Nice to Have

• Experience with healthcare or clinical systems, HIPAA compliance, or audit trails for ML systems
• A core Data Science or Machine Learning background
• A degree in Math, Physics, or Computer Science from a top-tier university
• Experience at a leading AI-native startup
